Raw material loading and unloading stations

Raw material loading and unloading stations

When raw materials are delivered in bags, Big Bags, Octabins or by truck, they will have to be unloaded and transported. There are various systems available for this, each with its advantages and disadvantages.

It may also be necessary to refill Big Bags to store or transport raw materials.

We distinguish the following loading and unloading stations:

  • Bladder transport
  • Big Bag charging stations
  • Big Bag unloading stations
  • Vismec Octabin unloading stations – Sweeper
  • Vismec Octabin unloading stations – Viper

Bladder transport

With the help of blower transport, bags and Big Bags can be easily emptied and transported with a large capacity to an intermediate station. This intermediate station can be an indoor silo, for example. The big advantage of this is that a large amount of raw material can be moved in a short time.

Big Bag charging stations

In some situations, a Bag Bag needs to be filled with raw material for temporary storage or further transport. The Big Bags can be easily mounted to the construction and are filled by means of vacuum or blow transport. A weighing platform can also be provided under the Big Bag.

Big Bag unloading stations

Emptying Big Bags is done by placing them in a solid frame and letting them empty through the hose. The raw material is collected in an intermediate bunker and can then be transported further into the factory. Placing the Big Bag in the construction can be done by means of a forklift or by means of a hoist frame and hoist winch. There are different versions available, depending on the application.

Vismec Octabin unloading station - Sweeper

By means of a special agitator the raw material is led to the suction point after which it is transported by means of vacuum transport. The agitator together with the suction point automatically lowers by means of gravity as the level in the Octabin drops.

Vismec Octabin unloading station - Viper

The plastic bag that is in the Octabin must be attached to the frame provided for this purpose. The Viper has a fixed suction point that sucks the material out of the Octabin by means of vacuum.

The more material is removed from the Octabin, the higher the frame pulls the plastic bag up so that the material will flow down properly. The big advantage is that the system can use the maximum suction capacity and on the other hand there is no bridging in the Octabin.
